They poured their poison in our cup, Yet You made every toxin weak, They cursed the work You’re lifting up, But still Your glory’s what we seek. Verse 2 They mocked and wounded “Universal,” They tried to crush what You have blessed, But God of David, You arose, You put their evil plots to rest. Our friends turned into enemies, Yet the Prophet still stood by, He spoke Your word over our tears, He wiped the sorrow from our eyes. Pre-Chorus We had nothing in our hands, Just empty tables, empty plans, But in that valley of despair, Your Prophet met us, You were there. You filled the house with hungry souls, With hearts that bow before Your cross, You turned our empty, echoing walls Into a choir that shakes the dust.
